Even chance meetings are the result of karma… Things in life are fated by our previous lives. That even in the smallest events there's no such thing as coincidence" - Murakami Haruki from “Kafka on the Shore”

I am so pleased to welcome you here today, as you officially join the GMBA program at NCTU. As we begin this semester I am reminded of the slogan which informs our role within the university and within Taiwan: GMBA Connected! Since our inception in 2008, the GMBA program has been a leading agent of globalization, not only for our campus, but also for Taiwan as a whole. We have worked hard to position ourselves as an open platform of knowledge and culture over the past 8 years, and now you are about to play an integral role in our next exciting transformation. We are embarking on a new journey together in which we will leverage our location, as an R&D-centered campus adjacent to the Hsinchu Science Park, the hub of Taiwan's Information and Communication Technology industry, to act as a connector between the worlds of science and business. At the same time we will continue to function as a bridge between Taiwan and the rest of the world, especially through our global alumni network which now stretches to over 30 countries from all corners of the globe.

As we begin this semester, realize that it is no coincidence that we are here together. After all, this meeting is really the culmination of all that we have separately striven for, up to this very moment. Now, finally you are here, and from today we will be stepping forward together, sharing some of the most exciting moments of our lives. Your future starts right here, right now. From this moment, we will support and challenge each other, and together we are going to unlock our full individual and collective potential.

    Welcome aboard!
    Welcome to GMBA Connected!
